Those of us with close ties to the Special Operations community, and this author counts himself in that number, are digesting an article by Matthew Cole in the online, investigative journal, The Intercept. The article details extensive inappropriate conduct on the part of Navy SEALs assigned to what is publicly know as SEAL Team Six. The piece details allegations of criminal behavior and presents a picture of a military unit culture gone terribly wrong. What I found both revealing and compelling, as well as troubling, was Mr. Cole’s analysis of the final moments of Osama bin-Laden. It will be interesting to see what comes in the way of follow-up, amplification, and rebuttal by interested parties.
