First the apology–especially for those of you who have read Act of Revenge. It was my intention, on completing Act of Revenge to begin on a sequel to that book, Act of Justice. In fact, I was well into “Justice” and had included two chapters of this book at the end of “Revenge.” But then another project came up that I just could not resist–and the new book.
My next published work will be By Honor Bound. It is the true-life account, in their own words, of two amazing Navy SEAL warriors: Tommy Norris and Mike Thornton. If these names have a familiar ring, it’s no wonder. Both received the Medal of Honor for their service in Vietnam. Tommy’s award was for his repeated trips behind enemy lines to rescue downed American airmen. His exploits, and the events leading up to this dramatic rescue, were the subject of a major motion picture, “Bat 21” starring Gene Hackman and Danny Glover. Mike received his Medal for gallantry during a running firefight where Mike saved the lives of his teammates, and one of those was Tommy Norris. It is the first and only time in the modern history of the Medal of Honor where one recipient received his award for saving the life of another recipient.
Together, the life of these two living legends is a fascinating and compelling read. Tommy and Mike are the authors; I am privileged to serve as their narrator. But the three of us go back a long way. Tommy and I were in the same SEAL training class, Class 45 in Little Creek, Virginia in 1968-69. Mike and I were teammates at SEAL Team One in 1970-71.
By Honor Bound will be out after the first of the year, 2016. For you fiction readers, I hope to have Act of Justice in print by early fall, 2016. For all my readers, thank you for your patience and your support.
