Amid the focus on the election and the prospect of a new Commander-in-Chief, let us not forget that we are still a nation at war. Or perhaps more accurately, we are a nation who has a number of its Special Operations warriors committed to very nasty conflicts in Afghanistan, Northern Iraq, and elsewhere. It was a particularly bad week for our Army Special Forces. Six fine Green Berets perished in combat, combat support, or training accidents. So I asked that you take a moment to reflect on the life and service of these fine Special Forces soldiers:
Capt. Andrew Byers,
Sgt. 1st Class Ryan Gloyer
Staff Sgt. David Whitcher
Staff Sgt. Matthew Lewellen,
Staff Sgt. Kevin McEnroe
Staff Sgt. James Moriarty
Brothers, thank you and rest in peace; you are remembered and you are valued.
