SEAL Team One

This now-classic tale of SEAL combat action in Vietnam marked my debut as a novelist in 1990, and has now sold more than 120,000 copies. Hailed for its authenticity, it was the first novel about Navy SEALs to be written by one of their own. And while this is not autobiographical, a great deal of what takes place in this book is from first-hand experience. I was a SEAL platoon leader in the Mekong Delta from 1970 to 1971. It’s from this experience that I can add an insider’s, been-there-done-that touch to this novel. A great many bestselling authors have called SEAL Team One a sensational story, one they simply can’t put down. And a great many SEAL operators from my era have told me that I got it right—that this indeed tells it like it was. And for this SEAL turned story-teller, there is no higher praise. This was my first novel, and while it was written close to a decade and a half ago, the combat actions still take me back to my days as young warrior in the field.
